Ever wanted to dress up like Steve Zissou for a dance party at CCBC while having the opportunity to drink/take home some delicious beer? Now's your chance! Please join us for The Silent World Can Release & Dance Party on October 20th from 1-10PM (dance party starts at 7 pm)!
The Silent World & Table Beer 12oz cans will be available starting at 1PM.
Some notes on the beer:
The Silent World, named after Jacques-Yves Cousteau’s classic film Le Monde du Silence (The Silent World), is a black lager (5.5%) created to have high drinkability with complex flavors that develop on the palate as the beer warms and you make your way down the pint. It’s a balance of malty flavors like caramel, roast, & toasted bread with the classic earthiness and floral/herb flavors from the German hops wrapped up in a clean, smooth lager package. This beer is available to-go in 12oz cans at the brewery only.
Table Beer is returning as our next seasonal offering (previously known as Epicurious). The balance for this beer is struck between a mild bitterness from the hops, clove and slight fruit notes from the yeast, and minerality from the water treatment. It is the perfect beer to enjoy with food and friends. 4.2% This beer is available to-go in 12oz cans at the brewery as well as our markets of Athens & Atlanta.
This event will work as the draft & can release for The Silent World. After visiting Moonlight Brewing Company in Sonoma County & drinking a beer called Death and Taxes, one of our brewers was inspired to create a black lager for one of our limited release innovation beers, and as such, we will be donating $1 per pint to organizations working to extinguish the wildfires in Sonoma County and to support relief efforts for those who have suffered losses.

Undersea Creature Costumes are encouraged! We will have a special screening of the film that inspired the beer - Le Monde du Silence by Jacques-Yves Cousteau on channel 3 of the headphones so guests will have the option to join the dance party or watch the film!
Featuring local artists:
Michael Lauden is an Athens based audio-visual artist with several musical collaborations under his belt, most recently Murk Daddy Flex and Art Contest. Lauden directed Art Contest’s immersive, 3-D music video “Horror”, released in May 2017 via High Times Magazine online. Look for the artist’s textural, surreal video art enacted live across a hybrid analog/digital video rig and multiple projectors.
Logan Shirah is an Atlanta born, Athens based artist who works across various visual and musical media. Shirah co-founded the Athens Free School in October 2015 and received his BFA in Painting from UGA’s Lamar Dodd School of Art in May 2016. The artist’s recent explorations into sculptural installation are 3-D expansions of his abstract paintings, which he conceives of as spaces in which the viewer can “move around.”
