Asheville Brewing Company will release its award-winning, widely anticipated Ninjabread Man Porter for the fourth year on Friday, October 13, 2017, on draft and in 22-ounce bottles.
The Asheville Brewing brew team works closely with the Asheville Pizza and Brewing chefs to hand-craft a concoction of fresh vanilla beans, toasted cinnamon sticks, raisins, molasses, and caramelized ginger. This saliva-inducing syrup is then added to Asheville Brewing’s World Beer Cup gold medal winner and year-round flagship beer, Ninja Porter. These fresh ingredients produce the insanely tasty sensation of a liquid gingerbread cookie in the seasonal Ninjabread Man Porter. This beer stealthily kicks (like a Ninja) at 5.6 percent ABV.
Paste Magazine named Ninjabread Man one of the 20 best North Carolina beers in 2017, and it’s been named a top Holiday/Winter beer by the same magazine for two years in a row.
“This beer has been super popular with local beer drinkers, and so many local restaurants and bars love having a dark, spicy beer available for the holidays and cooler weather,” says Asheville Brewing’s head brewer, Pete Langheinrich.
Ninjabread Man will be released at all three Asheville Brewing locations on Friday, October 13, at 5 p.m., on draft and in 22-ounce bottles.
Look for the 22-ounce bottles soon after at Asheville bottle shops as well as at regional grocery and convenience stores, including many Ingles Groceries. Find the Ninjabread Man on draft at many Asheville watering holes, bars and restaurants. If you don’t see it at your “local,” ask for it!
While holiday beers are made to drink with savory holiday meals, they can be fun to cook with as well. Asheville Brewing annually releases recipes that incorporate or complement the Ninjabread Man, such as beer-glazed ham or Ninjabread cookies. About Asheville Brewing Company
Asheville’s third craft brewery opened in 1998 as a mash-up pizza joint, second-run movie theater, and brewpub, all wrapped up in a bright, happy, family-friendly space. The brew pub’s popularity with both locals and visitors enabled a second location, including a 15-barrel brewhouse, to open in downtown Asheville in 2006. Asheville Brewing installed Western North Carolina’s first in-house canning line in 2011. The Merrimon Avenue mothership’s original 7-barrel system recently joined the Coxe Avenue brewery, consolidating all brewing operations under one roof. The brew crew produced 6,800 barrels of beer in 2016, up from 1,200 barrels in 2011. Asheville Brewing Company’s flagship and one-off brews are distributed in 12-ounce cans, on draft, and in special release 22-ounce bottles throughout Western North Carolina, Charlotte, and in a few other North Carolina cities.
