From Smuttynose:
SAVOR, the Brewers Assocation’s premier beer and food pairing in the United States, will again welcome Smuttynose Brewing Company to the festivities. On June 2nd and 3rd, Smuttynose Brewing Company will be one of 86 small and independent craft breweries represented at SAVORSM: An American Craft Beer & Food Experience after being selected from nearly 300 applicants.
“There’s no better place to showcase your beer than SAVOR in D.C.,” said Peter Egelston, founder and president of Smuttynose Brewing Company. “Food and beer go hand in hand, so we’re really thrilled to pair our best beers with some of the best food in the business.”
Now in its 10th year, SAVOR returns to the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. with a brand-new set-up, making exploration of the Great Hall a breeze. For the first time ever, the breweries will be located located on the spectacular second-floor balcony for their pairings with artisanal charcuterie, chocolate, cheese and oyster producers.
Each brewery, represented in person by the luminaries behind the beer brands, will present two craft beers alongside a reception-style sampling of sweet and savory small plates. The strategic food menu was designed by Brewers Association executive chef and co-author of CraftBeer.com’s Beer & Food Course, Adam Dulye.
“The 10th anniversary of SAVOR truly goes above and beyond with a record number of 86 participating breweries, the visionaries behind them and a world class pairing menu custom designed for the beers presented,” said Julia Herz, publisher of CraftBeer.com and craft beer program director for the Brewers Association. “For two nights, the who’s who of brewers, beer lovers and foodies will gather and have the unique opportunity to meet, mingle and indulge in America’s finest craft beer and culinary combinations.”
Smuttyose Brewing Co. will be serving Blackberry Shortweiss paired with lamb tartare with taramind and Thai basil, as well as Finestkind IPA alongside duck breast with candied orange and farro.----
