The PA Wilds Center for Entrepreneurship (PA Wilds Center) has announced their annual "Champions of the Wilds" awards. Straub Brewery of St. Marys, PA has been named the “Best Brand Ambassador” for the Pennsylvania Wilds for 2017.
Straub Brewery representatives, including President & CEO Bill Brock, will be presented the award at the PA Wilds AnnualDinner & Awards Banquet, to be held Thursday April 27, 2017 at the DuBois Country Club.
Every Spring the PA Wilds Center recognizes individuals, groups, organizations, communities or businesses that in the lastyear have made significant contributions to help grow and sustainably develop nature tourism and the outdoor recreation economy in the Pennsylvania Wilds. These prestigious regional awards are given to a select group of people and organizationseach year by the PA Wilds Center Team.
“One of the great achievements of the PA Wilds effort is its ability to inspire and harness the ideas and energy of local residentsand organizations, and regional collaboration. Straub Brewery has been such an inspiring and committed partner for the PA Wilds Center’s initiatives,” said Ta Enos, Executive Director of the PA Wilds Center. “It’s an honor for us to recognize Straub Brewery as our Best Brand Ambassador for 2017, an award for which they received nominations from several entities and individuals.”

Straub saw the value of the PA Wilds as a lifestyle brand. Nature tourism was helping revitalize the region and having a positive impact on the region’s communities - and Straub wanted to get more involved. It started to incorporate information about the Pennsylvania Wilds as a region and a brand into its sales and marketing strategy, sharing this background information with its extensive network of wholesalers and distributors across the region. The company intends to further promote the PA Wilds through the use of locally-inspired names for their beers.
