Magic Hat Brewing Company Embraces Earth Day

The Magic Hat Brewing Company team will make a positive contribution to the environment this Earth Day, April 22, 2017, by volunteering with the Intervale Center’s Conservation Nursery in Burlington. More than 20 Magic Hat employees will get outside and give back to Mother Nature by helping plant native, locally-sourced trees and shrubs that will be used for riverbank restoration projects throughout Vermont. Magic Hat staff will also be doing cleanup at local parks and in neighborhoods around South Burlington.

This marks the second consecutive year that Magic Hat employees will honor Earth Day and demonstrate the brewery’s environmental commitment by participating in outdoor community projects. Magic Hat is always focused on minimizing its environmental footprint as a business overall, and it is also dedicated to creating a positive impact whenever possible to help offset its use of natural resources in the brewing process.

“We’re constantly looking to measure and reduce the environmental impacts we have on our community and this planet,” said Mark Hegedus, President of Magic Hat. “Volunteerism is one important way we can protect and steward our natural resources and improve our footprint, and we’re proud to foster that mindset and motivation within our team. Through our volunteer time off program, we pay our employees to help keep our shorelines clean, maintain our nature trails, and keep litter and waste out of our neighborhoods.”

The Magic Hat volunteer program encourages employees to volunteer between 8 to 16 hours each year, with an emphasis on environmental projects.----
