From Red Hare:
Red Hare Brewing Company cleaned up at the 2016 U.S. Open Beer Championship, accepting five medals and placing fourth in the overall competition. One of these achievements was a bronze medal awarded to the brewery’s Winter seasonal Sticky Stout, which returns later this month. The smooth, chocolaty oatmeal stout has been a beloved seasonal from the brewery for years and is a staff favorite. While the award-winning recipe remains unchanged, Sticky Stout will hit shelves this year with an updated can design. The beer launches at the brewery on Saturday, October 22nd, with live music from Chip McGuire and Carne 250 food truck on site for purchase.
New Look, Same Great Beers
Sticky Stout isn’t the only beer in the Red Hare family getting a new look this year. After five years in the market, the brewery is giving its lineup a packaging refresh, bringing the iconic Red Hare scenes to life with brighter colors, vivid details and the occasional shark fin. “With so many competing brands today, we knew it was time for an update; the cans have to be eye-catching, they have to jump off the shelf,” says Director of Marketing Madison Phillips. “We’re so fortunate to have a graphic designer on staff so we can create these designs in house and we can all be involved in the creative process.” The brewery prides itself on a strong brand identity and these striking new cans reflect their lighthearted nature. The new packaging for Gangway IPA and Long Day Lager have started to hit shelves and will be followed by Sticky Stout and Cotton Tail Pale Ale later this year.
New Berry Belgian Waffle
Following the return of Sticky Stout in October, the brewery plans to release a small batch offering in early December. Berry Belgian Waffle, a 7.9% ABV Belgian style ale brewed with blueberries, will launch just in time for the holidays. This release follows Red Hare’s other small batch brews, Cotton Tail Orange CreamsicAle and Long Night Lager. “Our goal is to release new and exciting beers as often as we can. We want to give people something to come back for and something to talk about,” says Head Brewer Bobby Thomas. Berry Belgian Waffle will be available for a limited time in independent package stores, bars and restaurants starting in December.
