From Summit:
ST. PAUL, MN. – (June 14, 2016) – Summit Brewing Company will celebrate three decades of creativity, consistency and community with the craft brewing pioneer’s official 30th birthday party from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, in the brewery’s backyard.
Tickets for Summit’s 30th Anniversary Backyard Bash are on sale as of today. Bob Mould headlines a diverse lineup of artists with local ties, including Bully, deM atlaS, Bad Bad Hats, Apollo Cobra and Nooky Jones. Hotpants DJs will spin vinyl between sets.
Admission to the 21-and-older event is $30 in advance and $40 the day of the show. Children ages 12 and younger will be allowed in free of charge with parental supervision.
Just like past Backyard Bashes, a portion of the party’s proceeds will go to the Minnesota Music Coalition (MMC), a local nonprofit supporting independent artists.
“Partnerships with the community, including the Twin Cities music scene, are really at the core of Summit’s 30 years,” said Summit founder and president Mark Stutrud. “This year’s Backyard Bash pays tribute to all the friends we’ve made along the way, and we’re excited to welcome some of the area’s top acts to help us celebrate.”
Summit again will partner with Minneapolis-based Eureka Recycling to work toward a zero-waste event. Media sponsor 89.3 The Current and the St. Paul Jaycees are both back as partners for the festivities. The day will also feature a wide variety of Summit brews, cask tastings, free water stations provided by Culligan and a variety of food, including Pizza Lucé, Anchor Fish and Chips, Bennett’s, World Street Kitchen, Signature on Wheels and Black Forest.
Parking is limited, so patrons are encouraged to bike, bus, shuttle or carpool. Summit and Metro Transit again will provide free rides to the event. New bus line 83 drops off in the cul-de-sac just off Montreal Avenue, and the 54 drops off on West 7th Street. Both routes connect to the Light Rail Green Line.
