On Saturday, January 16th, we are hosting a bottle release party and fundraiser for our friends at Foothills Land Conservancy of Morganton, North Carolina. These fine folks are responsible for preserving thousands of acres of land in Western North Carolina. In honor of their amazing work, we crafted a beer that represents their mission.
(1). Land Trust is an Appalachain Saison brewed with local grains from Riverbend Malt House of Asheville, North Carolina, including house smoked applewood barley. Fermented with our mixed house culture and then again with the addition of house pressed certified organic apple juice from Fox Gap Farm of Morganton, North Carolina. Conditioned on locally foraged spicebush twigs and fermented again inside the bottle.
(2). Sun Gold is the newest beer in our ongoing Appalachian Grisette series where we feature a unique local heritage grain. Brewed with local malt from Riverbend Malt House of Asheville, North Carolina and raw sun gold spelt courtsey of Red Tail Grains of Efland, North Carolina. Much like Bloody Butcher, Sun Gold is very dry, effervescent, rustic and tart.
(3). The last beer for the release is still a secret. No it's not Beets. Sorry. But it is damn exciting. Any guesses?
This event will feature some amazing locally crafted beers and will benefit an incredible organization. Come show your support for local culture and local agriculture. Live music all day including tunes from BearWallow, which features the very man who grew the organic apples. This is how we do. Cheers!
UPDATE: the 3rd beer release will be Sal De Gusano imperial stout
