Victory - Fermentation "Yule Log" (Video)

From Victory:

This holiday season, we think "yule" enjoy viewing this fermenting HopDevil wort, set to the lovely sounds of a crackling fire.

What you're actually seeing here are the convection currents of fermentation, caused by the natural heat generated in the process. These currents push around proteins and flocculating dormant yeast cells, creating the swirling patterns you see above while releasing tiny bubbles of carbon dioxide. To learn more about fermentation and brewing, visit our Parkesburg Brewery and take the self-guided tour!
