North Carolina Beer & Wine Distributor and Brewery Partner Answer Consumer Demand for Craft Beer with 12-Ounce Bottles

Raleigh, NC, October 22, 2015 Mims Distributing Company, a wholesale beverage distributor in North Carolina, has announced that Ballast Point Brewing & Spirits’ The Commodore American Stout is now available in 6-pack form. Previously only available in draft, The Commodore six-pack features 12-ounce bottles full of the flavors of roast coffee and chocolate, with light citrus hop aromas and a bitter crisp finish. Craft beer lovers can also purchase the craft brew in 24-count cases and kegs.

Ballast Point is a San Diego, California-based brewery that joined Mims Distributing’s expanding portfolio in October 2014. It has received California’s Distillery of the Year Award for the past two years and won 19 awards at various California state fairs this summer. Started as a home brewery for the simple purpose of making better beer, Ballast Point retains a homegrown feel through beer names with a nautical theme – a passion of founders Jack White and Yuseff Cherney.

Quotes:
“Craft beer lovers will finally be able to purchase The Commodore in six-pack bottles so they can enjoy its unique combination of coffee and chocolate flavors,” said Chip Mims, CEO of Mims Distributing Company. “Ballast Point‘s exceptional craft beers retain the personal touches of the brewery’s founders and we are excited to make The Commodore more readily available in North Carolina.”"

“In our search for a new American Stout we came up with The Commodore through our R&D Pilot Brewery. It quickly became a favorite at the brewery with its roasty coffee and chocolate flavors, “ said Greg Leone of Ballast Point. “This carefully-crafted brew is the perfect addition to Command any tailgate or backyard BBQ, and we are proud to partner with Mims Distributing to bring this to our consumers.”
