From Anderson Valley Brewing:
September 29, 2015 – Boonville, CA – Due to the overwhelming support from thousands of craft beer enthusiasts
during this year’s Legendary Boonville Beer Festival held on Saturday, May 2nd, The Wee
Boont Foundation was able to donate over $130,000 to local area non-profits. With strong support by
Anderson Valley Brewing Company, the Anderson Valley community has benefited from nearly
$1,200,000 since the festival began 19 years ago.
Each year, the highly popular event has built a huge cult following that features upwards of 90
breweries, dozens of food & craft vendors, and a consistent turnout of nearly 7,000 thirsty craft beer
fans from across the nation and around the world, many of whom have aptly given it the title of “Top
Bucket List Beer Festival of All Time.”
President & owner of Anderson Valley Brewing Company, Trey White, said of the festival: “It never
ceases to amaze me how the Anderson Valley community, our fellow craft breweries and all the beer
fans come together each year to enjoy great beers, live music, and good people all in an effort to raise
funds for worthwhile community causes in Mendocino County. We’re glad to be a part of it, because
many of these local organizations say they wouldn’t be able to sustain their efforts without the
generosity of The Wee Boont Foundation.”
Following the success of the inaugural Legendary Boonville Beer Festival in 1997, AVBC decided to invite
other breweries and vendors and charge admission to raise profits for their community. In the past, the
proceeds have been shared by multiple non-profits such as the Anderson Valley Animal Rescue, AV
Historical Society, AV Fire Department & Volunteer Firefighters Association, Navarro River Resource,
AV Land Trust and KZYX Public Radio. Next year will mark the 20th anniversary of the festival, and there
are big plans in the works, so mark your calendars – the 20h Annual Legendary Boonville Beer Festival
will be held Saturday, April 30th, 2015!
