WHAT:           The official groundbreaking and opening remarks for Alltech’s Dueling Barrels brewery and distillery in Pikeville, Kentucky.

WHO:              Dr. Pearse Lyons, founder and president of Alltech; Deirdre Lyons, co-founder of Alltech and director of corporate image and project management; Jimmy Carter, Pikeville mayor; Donovan Blackburn, Pikeville city manager; Buford Burchfield and Randy Thomas, owners of Burchfield & Thomas; and Jay Million, architect. Dr. Pearse Lyons will speak, as well as city leaders.

WHEN:           Thursday, July 30, 9 a.m. EDT

WHERE:          Future site of Dueling Barrels Brewing & Distilling Co. at 745 Hambley Blvd, Pikeville, KY, 41501, next to Jenny Wiley Theatre at 218 Second St., Pikeville, KY 41501.

Dueling Barrels Brewing & Distilling Co. in downtown Pikeville will include both a brewery and distillery at the site. The distillery will represent a sophisticated moonshine distillery with a visitor’s center. The unique visitor experience will celebrate Appalachian history and the role of moonshine. The facility will produce Dueling Barrels Bourbon, Dueling Barrels Moonshine and Pikeville Ale. While Dueling Barrels will be part of the Alltech Beverage Division, its manufacturing and production will be unique from that of Alltech Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co. in Lexington.
