The Easton microbrewery will start serving five of its own brews on Friday when it opens at 11 a.m.

"I'm just going to be really happy not answering the 'question' any more: 'Are you brewing your own beer?'" he said.

After he bought the former Mount Vernon Ale House at 542 Northampton St., he learned the wood supports were too weak to support the huge tanks on the second and third floors. He had them reinforced with steel.
