From Cascade Brewing:
We will be releasing Sang Rouge 2013 this Wednesday, May 6 at opening at both the Barrel House and Raccoon Lodge. This NW style sour ale is a blend of Red ales aged in oak wine barrels and oak foudres for up to three years. Rich and complex, it exhibits flavors of plums, aged red wine, currants and oak with tart lactic acidity and a lingering finish. 8.4%, $7 glass, $2 taster, $20 bottle.
We will also be tapping a vintage keg of 2009 Sang Rouge at the Barrel House the same day to celebrate the release of the 2013 project. This keg has been aging in our cellar for five years. Like a well-aged Flanders red ale, the 2009 Sang Rouge offers a multiplicity of flavors including dark cherries, pipe tobacco, vanilla, raisins and oak. This extraordinarily limited release will be available in 4 oz. glasses until it's gone.
