Scratch #167 - ESB released today! Now in its third consecutive year, the “Biffvitational” ski race is an annual fundraising event organized to benefit long-time friend of Tröegs, Jeff “Biff” Beinhaur, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in November 2012. Since its inception, Jeff’s friends and the local skiing community have rallied around the event to help create a successful fundraising campaign for Jeff and his family. For this year’s event at Ski Roundtop, Jeff (an avid home-brewer) visited our brewery to assist in the creation of a Scratch Beer that harkens back to our original Tröegs ESB. Using some notes from his previous homebrew recipes, we made a few tweaks to our ESB to create Scratch #167, a beer we’ve dubbed “Extra Special Biff” in honor of Jeff. ABV is 6.5% and IBU is 53. Availability: Cases, six-packs, singles, draft, and growler fills.
