Pittston, Pa – 03 June 2014 Susquehanna Brewing Company Inc. has come to terms with three new wholesalers
to bolster their distribution expansion in the state of New Jersey. These three appointments
will give SBC coverage in the Northwest, Central and also Southern areas of NJ.
Susquehanna Brewing Company chose the Banko Beverage network to cover 16 of the 21
counties that encompass New Jersey. Hub City Distributing Co., Lawrenceville will cover four counties in
the central part of the state. Warren Distributing Co. South, Hammonton will cover six counties in the
southern part of the state. Warren Distributing Co. North, Flanders will round out the coverage by
taking six Northwestern counties.
Susquehanna Brewing currently has coverage of 46 counties in their home state of
Pennsylvania. SBC’s newest addition came in April 2014 as they appointed Nittany Beverage, State
College to cover seven Central PA counties.
Susquehanna Brewing Company is an up and coming craft brewery located in Pittston,
Pennsylvania. This state of the art facility first started brewing their products in April 2012. SBC
was founded in 2010 by Mark Nobile and Ed and Fred Maier, formerly of United Beverage of NEPA
which was a Miller/Yuengling wholesaler that serviced 8 counties In Northeast PA. Ed and Fred are
descendants of Charles Stegmaier, who brewed the first larger beer in Northeast Pennsylvania in 1851.
Guy Hagner joined SBC as the company’s Brew Master in February 2012.
Susquehanna will also undertake its first expansion this summer by adding four 100 BBL
fermentors, as well as additional equipment to enhance their bottling line. The cost of this expansion
will be in the range of $500,000-$600,000.
Susquehanna Brewing Co. currently has draft and packaged offerings of GoldenCold Lager,
a Bavarian-style Lager brewed with Hallertau Tradition and Perle hops; Pils-Noir, a Black Pilsner finished
with Czech Saaz Hops; 6th Generation Stock Ale, a Pre-Prohibition style ale that is brewed with whole-cone Liberty hops from Oregon; and Hop Five IPA is a bottle-conditioned IPA featuring a blend of 5 hop
varieties from the Pacific Northwest and England. Their newest year round offering is So-Wheat, a
German styled unfiltered Hefeweizen.
In addition to its year round offerings Susquehanna also offers a number of Seasonal and one
off brews that include: Shady Spot (Summer Shandy), Oktoberfest, Pumpkin Ale, Toboggan (Winter
Seasonal), Southern Rye IPA and Atomic Blast IPA.
