From New Belgium:
Ft. Collins, Colo., May 14, 2014 – New Belgium Brewing will be pouring beer for the first time at Philly Beer Week this year. The event, which runs May 30 – June 8, will give people in Philadelphia a chance to try out New Belgium at several events throughout the week. New Belgium is partnering with Penn Beer Distributors on a limited contract for this week only.
"It is a privilege for us to partner with New Belgium Brewing Company and several of our fine customers in kicking off what is going to be a very exciting Philly Beer week" said Matt Funchion, President of Penn Beer Distributors in Philadelphia, PA.
New Belgium will start its profile requests and interview process later this year for a permanent Philadelphia distributor. A launch date is not set yet, but Asheville coming on in late 2015 will help New Belgium expand into new areas.
“Philly Beer Week will provide a great opportunity for Craft enthusiasts to sample New Belgium beers before we officially come to Philadelphia, and we’re definitely excited to be part of the mix this year,” said Rich Rush, New Belgium’s East Coast & Canada Divisional Sales Director. “Matt & Nick Funchion at Penn Beer Distributors have been great to work with, and I’m confident our participation in Philly Beer Week this year will be a success.”
