From Long Trail:
First brewed in 1989, Long Trail Ale is a full-bodied amber ale brewed with our top fermenting house yeast that yields a complex, clean flavor.
In 25 short years, our flagship brew has weaved its way into the Vermont landscape and become as much a Green Mountain tradition as the 272 miles of the Long Trail itself. A lot has changed since the first batch rolled off the line at the original Mountain Brewers brewery -- including our name -- but one thing remains constant; Long Trail Ale's presence at ski hills, cookouts and get-togethers all over New England and the eastern seaboard.
The adventure continues with the release of our new-look labels designed to evoke the journey completed and the trek ahead as we embark on our 25th year. While the labels have changed a bit, the bottles are still filled with the same award-winning, handcrafted beer brewed fresh with the finest ingredients and Vermont's best water.
