From The Bruery:
Meet Matt and try his pilot batch of Saison Garni on Thursday 2/6/14 from 6-8PM!
Our team of brewers have been working on their own small batch of beer on our little 3 bbl pilot system that's tucked away inside the brewery where our old Tasting Room counter once was. Each brewer had total creative control over their own batch, and we're releasing these very limited experimental brews all month long.
The first beer release is Matt Becker's Saison Garni. You might recognize Matt from the longtime running (and delightful) blog/video/podcast that is New Brew Thursday.
Saison Garni was inspired by French culinary ingredients.
A "bouquet garni" is a bundle of herbs, spices, and sometimes additional vegetables, that's used to season different foods like soups or stews. Sometimes the little bundle is contained in a small satchel made of cheesecloth or muslin to hold the ingredients together.

Matt put together a bundle of thyme, tarragon, parsley, bay leaf, and peppercorns to use in his pilot brew. The end result is a savory yet refreshing Saison with herbs that's 7.3% ABV.
Matt will be at the Tasting Room on 2/6 to debut his brand new brew to the public from 6-8PM. If you're coming hungry, we'll have a food truck here too.
This beer is in very limited supply, so it will only be available in regular sized pours, or added onto tasting flights, at our Tasting Room. Sorry, but no growlers or bottles of this very limited batch!
The rest of our schedule for pilot batch releases during February is as follows:
Friday 2/14 Bitter Milk Biscuits by Rich Ruelle:
This beer uses a large amount of biscuit malt for its base malt as well as some lactose to produce a full bodied beer with moderate bitterness.
Thursday 2/20 Walt by Andrew Bell:
Dry-hopped funky saison. Brewed in memory of Walt Powell, who passed away on June 4th, 2013 at the age of 33.
Thursday 2/27 Chupacabra Quinceañera by Sean Flannery:
A refreshing 100% Brett fermented blonde beer bursting with clean tropical aroma from the unique brett strain used for fermentation. These notes are complimented with the subtle use of Simcoe and Amarillo hops, which add layers of tangerine and passionfruit.
