Almanac Golden Gate Gose & Dogpatch Sour Batch 2

imageFrom Almanac Beer:

After being available on draft for the last six months, our Golden Gate Gose is now rolling out in 750ml bottles so you can enjoy it anywhere!  Inspired by the classic wheat beer hailing from Leipzig, Germany, our tart, California-inspired version is brewed with San Francisco Bay sea salt, lemon verbena and coriander grown especially for us by Dirty Girl Produce in Santa Cruz, California. Fermented with our house saison yeast, this delicate and lightly tart beer is a perfect warm weather refresher. Featuring a gorgeous, hand-lettered label by local San Francisco artist Erik Marinovich.

Fresh From The Barrel: Dogpatch Sour Batch Two

Our Dogpatch Sour is one of the most popular beers we’ve ever brewed and we’re thrilled to announce Batch Two is ready! Aged for many months in red wine barrels, Dogpatch is brewed using a classic Flanders Red-style malt base, Rainier cherries from Bella Viva Farms and fermented with our house sour culture. Pair this very limited offering with ripe figs & blue cheese or rich seafood bouillabaisse.

Beer Talks

We were incredibly proud to host Beer Talks during San Francisco Beer Week 2014. Inspired by TED talks, Almanac invited some of our favorite brewers and friends to give a series of short presentations on beery topics. Now the entire event is available to download for free on our website!  Learn the secrets of bourbon barrel aging from FiftyFifty Brewing, how to pair food with IPAs from a Master Cicerone, the rich history of Anchor’s Liberty Ale and much more.

Almanac’s Barrel-Aged Future

Changes are afoot at Almanac. We’re shifting our primary focus to our ever growing barrel-aging program. This means a lot more sour and barrel-aged beer is in the works, and coming soon.  Read all about it on our blog.
