From Upslope Brewing:
Less than a 12-months after moving into their new production facility, Upslope Brewing has plans to reach their goal of becoming a regional craft brewery, selling more than 15,000 barrels, one year ahead of schedule.
In 2013, Upslope experienced triple-digit growth producing 12,000 barrels, resulting in a 109 percent annual increase. In February of last year, the brewery moved into their new facility boasting a 30-barrel brewhouse up from their original, seven-barrel brewhouse. The original 5,000 square foot brewery will remain in North Boulder as a specialty and experimental brewhouse that will supply single batch and barrel-aged styles to their taprooms. Over the last ten months, they have increased capacity from three 120-barrel fermentation tanks to eleven to keep up with the tremendous growth in demand with plans to add additional tanks throughout 2014.
While 96 percent of all beer sold last year was in their home state of Colorado, the brewery ventured into their first out of state market, Texas, teaming up with Ben E. Keith Company. Last year, Upslope also introduced their Imperial IPA in a 19.2-ounce can and their new Mix Box, a variety 12-pack featuring core styles and a rotating, off-season Limited Release in each box.
Upslope has plans to flow into a few more states in the beginning of 2014. Lookout for their all-can lineup hitting shelves in Arizona (Golden Eagle Distributors) and Wyoming (Teton Distributing) in the coming weeks and New Mexico in the coming months.
“The expansion into the Rocky Mountain and Southwest regions was always something that we had hoped for once we had established firm roots in Colorado,” says Upslope Founder Matt Cutter. “We feel very fortunate to have found solid partners in these states who are excited about our beer and our brand.”
