Truckload of Hops Spill Leaving Samuel Adams Brewery in PA

Attention homebrewers with large buckets!  A surprising story coming from just down the road here in PA.  Details from the Morning Call:

A "substantial" amount of beer hops spilled on to a Upper Macungie road Sunday morning after the drivers of two tractor trailers tried to avoid a collision, Upper Macungie police said.

Investigators say Schantz Road was closed for several hours while emergency crews removed the hops from the road near Newtown Road. The hops were being transported from the nearby Samuel Adams brewery, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators say the incident happened at about 10 a.m. when one tractor-trailer was trying to make a right turn from Schantz Road to Newtown Road. The other tractor-trailer tried to avoid a collision and struck a small concrete wall, causing the hops to spill out onto the roadway.
