Napa Point Brewing is committed to educating knowledgeable beer drinkers as to the core attributes that go into creating an Ultra Premium Craft beer.
Robert Dahl, Napa Point Brewing CEO, describes it thus, “There are 4 components that are critical to creating world-class beers: water, ingredients, equipment, and of course a world class Brewmaster.”
Robert continues, “We realized that to create beers that can stand with the best in the world, it all begins with water specifically developed for each individual style of beer. As such, we take great Napa water, put it through sediment filtration, then carbon filtration, a water softening system, and then finally use a reverse osmosis system and ultraviolet light sterilization to give us the perfect platform to develop the beers from. We then add the correct minerals and adjust the ph for each individual style of beer. It is time consuming and work intensive, but we know the results show in the final beer.”
Denise Jones, Napa Point Brewing Brewmaster, describes their philosophy on ingredients, “We have over 20 years’ experience sourcing world class ingredients from the world. We hand select grains and hops of superior quality and match them with specific yeast strains that create exceptional flavor profiles. To feature the broad variety of quality ingredients, I use 12 differently kilned malts and 12 different cultivars of hops in the brewing of our Cask Haven Imperial Brown XXIPA”.
Denise continues, “With regards to the equipment at Napa Point Brewing, I was excited to join Napa Point Brewing at the start of the process in planning and developing a state-of-the-art facility. We have designed a custom built modern Brewhaus, with efficient milling and high-tech bottling systems, along with fermentation tanks specific to each style of beer. I am thrilled with the beers that we are producing here at the brewery.”
Robert takes over when describing the fourth most important component in creating Ultra Premium craft beers: the Brewmaster. “We were overjoyed to find Denise and her resume speaks for itself: 300+ awards, including Grand Champion Brewery at the prestigious 2011 Australian International Brewing Awards. Denise ensures the commitment to the other three components — water, ingredients, and equipment — bear fruit.
