Jester King Becomes An Official Texas Brewpub 8/16 - Viking Metal Bottle Release

From Jester King:

By the end of the day tomorrow, we will officially be a Texas brewpub! The biggest and most immediate impact of this change is that, beginning this Saturday, visitors to Jester King will be able to purchase bottles of our beer to go.

When Texas beer law changed back in June, we were granted the right to sell beer at our brewery. We are extremely grateful for this newly acquired right. However, as holders of a Brewer’s Permit, the law change only allowed us to sell our beer for people to drink at our brewery. We want visitors to Jester King to have the same experience they would visiting a Texas winery or a brewery in another state. We want them to be able to tour our brewery, drink small pours or full glasses of our beer while at the brewery, and should they so desire, purchase bottles of our beer to take home with them. By changing our license to a brewpub, we are now able to offer this full experience.

Starting this Saturday, August 17th during our regular tasting room hours from noon to 6pm, brewery visitors will be able to purchase our beer both to drink on-site and to take home with them.

Here are links to our tasting room menu for this Saturday and our bottles to go list:

Because we can now sell bottles to go, we’ll start releasing new beers at our brewery. For instance, this Saturday at Jester King visitors will have the first opportunity to purchase bottles of
Viking Metal to take home with them. Viking Metal is a Swedish-inspired farmhouse ale aged in Old Tom gin barrels with wild yeast. We have less than 100 cases available. We’ll also soon be releasing Atrial Rubicite, our oak barrel aged wild ale re-fermented with raspberries. We will be announcing the release date for Rubicite very shortly.

Finally, we should mention that a brewpub license in Texas does not require us to serve food, and we will not be operating a commercial kitchen at Jester King. We’re fortunate to be located on the same ranch as
Stanley's Farmhouse Pizza. If you’re not familiar with Stanley’s, they’re making some really excellent wood-fired pizza, so we encourage you to check them out. Stanley’s is always open for service during our Saturday tasting room hours.
