Former Elmer Sudds Owner Closing Brother Tucker Bar In Pompano Beach, FL

image
Anyone that grew up in craft beer in Northeastern PA will recognize the name Elmer Sudds and it’s founder and owner Steve Sallit.  Steve created one of the early craft beer bars in NEPA with Elmer Sudds raising the bar to even be ranked #19 in the country among craft beer bars.  When Steve sold the bar, he and our pal Ian Hunter made the move to Pompano Beach FL

and opened the craft beer bar Brother Tuckers about 8 years ago.

Today I’m sad to report that I am hearing that Brother Tucker’s will be closing at the end of Aug.  Steve was quoted saying that the building he is located in will be torn down, likely in September 2013.  According to the Sun Sentinel the current property owner is planning a hotel with commercial space on the site.  No word on whether Steve will re-open in another location, but more details can be found here.
