Brandi Watson of A Wing and a Prayer Restaurant & Catering. Brandi established her takeout soul food restaurant and catering business, based in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, after earning rave reviews when cooking for coworkers at her job as a corrections officer at the Northampton County Prison. A graduate of The Restaurant School in Philadelphia, Brandi has been in the industry for more than 20 years. Having always loved cooking, Brandi wanted to expand this passion into a business. With her startup restaurant deemed "risky" by traditional bank lenders, Brandi turned to Samuel Adams Brewing the American Dream for help getting access to capital so she could invest in her budding business. Brandi is our first loan recipient in Lehigh Valley and is using her loan for equipment, ingredients, and working capital.
