From The St. Petersburg Times:
To help celebrate 50 years since Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman to fly solo in space on June 16, 1963, the retired cosmonaut was invited to brew a batch of limited edition Yarpivo beer at the St. Petersburg Baltika factory.
Then aged 26, Tereshkova’s three-day mission made her a global celebrity and a poster girl for Soviet space glory.
Last week, Baltika invited the 76-year-old to help brew the limited edition beer — Yarpivo. Anniversary Edition 5.0 — in honor of her anniversary.
While the cosmic brew will not be available for sale, it can be sampled during tours at both the St. Petersburg and Yaroslavl Baltika factories.
