From the Norwester:
The bottle caps give drinkers a chance to win 6-pack and 12-pack cases of beer by looking for winning caps inside specially marked cases.
The RNC advises, however, that as a result of the theft, Molson has changed the ink in the winning caps. Thus, a cap that contains a message in either blue or red ink will be one of the stolen caps and is no longer authentic.
The message under the cap for all official winning caps is printed exclusively in black ink in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Molson Coors Canada issued the following statement:
“We were fortunate to learn of this issue before the program started, and have taken the necessary steps to fix it by changing the colour of the ink used in the winning messages,” the statement reads. “It’s important that beer drinkers know we take the legitimacy of these programs very seriously.”
