This evening you get the first look at the latest Barrel Aged Series release from Avery Brewing. This is No 14 in the series and it is called Volunt Plus Erat (Latin for “Wish there was more”) Barrel-Aged Sour Ale. Volunt Plus Erat is an ale brewed with Cabernet Franc Grape Must & aged for 14-months (a coincidence) in Neutral Zinfandel barrels. Look for Volunt Plus Erat to be packaged in 12oz bottles (limited to 71 cases), and come in at 9.57% ABV. Volunt Plus Erat uses lactobacillus, pediococcus & brett yeast and based on the bottling date I suspect we’ll see it in June, that is after the brewery hoards 21 of the 71 cases.
