trying to track down the Flying Fish FU Sandy brew…..
All 86 kegs of Sandy have been sold to awesome bars, restaurants and liquor stores. Some folks have already tapped the beer, the great majority will be tapping this weekend. Check out the list and get on out and show some love for the Jersey shore.
For you folks who wanted to know more of the specs, they are:
50% Wheat
50% Pale Malt
ABV- 6.3%
IBUs- 25
We're calling Sandy a Wheat Pale Ale. Think of it as a summer beer for winter. A bit bigger in body and alcohol but still quite drinkable. It's hopped with experimental hop ADHA 483, donated by the American Dwarf Hop Association, which has never been used in a beer before this one. Expect a beautiful, tropical nose of mangoes, peaches and guavas that will accentuate the beer’s soft mouthfeel and contribute to a truly one-of-a-kind ale.
FU Sandy Shirts and Glassware
We've had a ton of requests for glasses and shirts (our favorite was from a gentleman whos ex-wife was named, coincidently, Sandy). Shirts and glasses will go on sale next week. We will be donating a portion of those proceeds to relief efforts as well. Above is a mock up of what they look like. We'll be posting actual photos once we have the merch in hand.
FU Sandy Donations
We're hoping to announce our donation recipients next week. We're being careful vetting all of the organizations. It's unfortunate but there are folks out there who are trying to take advantage of people wanting to help Sandy victims by setting up charities and donating the proceeds to themselves.
