Custom Ceramic Beer Mugs - Supporter of Porter

imageI occasionally post up contributions submitted by guest writers.  I think it adds a little diversity of style to the blog….so here goes….this from a guest writer:

While I swear glassware should always refer to actual glass, the historical significance of ceramic mugs being used for beer dates back centuries.  Some will swear that the nectar of the gods is wine, but we enlightened few know full well that it is beer that flows forth from the fountains of ethereal bliss. When drinking the divine brew one must have a worthy vessel from which his lips may experience that first drop of malty joy. But where can you find a vessel and how can you make it your own?  If you consider buying mugs at Minespress.com you are off to a good start—as you can customize them to display your love and worship for your brew of choice.

Blessed be the bitters
If you wish to stay true to your love of English Bitters, then why not showcase this on your mug? Coming from pale ale, this amber colored beverage offers a carnival of sensations dancing in your mouth. Premium bitters offers an even bolder taste and typically has an alcohol content of 7 percent. The best bitters I ever had was a Trappist rarity from Chimay that I had when I was in Belgium. A Trappist beer (there are also Trappist breads and cheeses) simply means that all proceeds from its sale go to charities as dictated by the monks that brew the blessed goodness. Get your custom bitters mug now, and have it say “it bitter be bitters in my mug”.

When in doubt drink a stout
This black, velvety goodness offers rich, bold tastes and comes in many forms. Some are brewed with coffee while others have chocolate notes. According to ‘Man Cave Daily’ the
5 best stouts include Kiuchi Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout. I tasted this magical elixir for the first time a year ago. Upon tasting the first drop I swore I heard heaven’s bells chime and sing praise to Silenus. “When in doubt, drink a stout” is a fine, worthy slogan to have forever branded on your custom beer mug.

Hooray for IPA
God bless the English for making the IPA, but Americans simply make it better by giving it a more flavorful taste with richer colors. Many IPAs are being brewed with herbal or citrus notes. One of the best IPAs I ever had was a microbrew Triple IPA with hints of rosemary from Green Flash. Other more popular IPAs include Sierra Nevada’s Torpedo Extra IPA and Racer 5 from Bear Republic. Show your love and have them print “Hooray for IPA” on your mug.

Supporter of porter
Porters are simply lovely. Many mistake them for being a stout, but porters tend to be sweeter. The porter was the first beer to be mass produced in England and marketed as a beverage ready to drink. Microbreweries across the country have worked magic to produce some dazzling varieties. The best two porters I ever had came from Stone—one was a smoked porter with vanilla and the other a smoked porter with a hint of chipotle pepper. Show your mates where you stand on the echelon of beer and raise your “supporter of porter” mug.

All are lovely
Beers are a lot like people: they come in many colors, varieties, and bodies. And like all people, all beer types are good. Show your adoration for beer and have several beer mugs custom made so you and your friends can drink accordingly.
