From Short’s:
Established in 1977 the event has been held on the first Saturday of February every year since, with the exception of snow challenged 2012. Originally a 50 kilometer, point to point, race from Frederic to Mancelona, Michigan the race is now contested 40 kilometers or 20 kilometers from Mancelona to Shanty Creek Resorts in Bellaire. There is also a 10 kilometer timed but non competitive event available for those who wish to take a more leisurely trip.
Come out and race with Team Huma skiers competing in various events or join us after the race for the Short’s Brewing “Cooldown” in the Bellaire Ballroom at Summit Village Lodge, in Shanty Creek Resorts starting at 1pm.
Relax with the crew, enjoy $1.00 Short’s brews, watch the slide show of the days events, and enjoy the music of The Younce Guitar Duo. The “Cooldown” will culminate with the White Pine Awards Ceremony, begining at 3pm, which includes some fun Short’s prizes for the winners.
