City Brewery Damaged As Railcar Jumps Tracks In Lacrosse, WI

From the Lacrosse Tribune:

A building at City Brewing Co. sustained minor damage when a rail car went off the tracks early Wednesday morning.

The single unloaded car derailed about 3:20 a.m. on an industry track near Front Street, said BNSF spokeswoman Amy McBeth. The car was pushed over a barrier causing it to strike the roof of a grain storage building, according to police.

The building and car were damaged.

No one was injured, and the car was returned to the rails early Wednesday afternoon, McBeth said. Traffic on the railroad’s main line was not affected.

The cause is under investigation, but McBeth said early indications point to a misaligned switch.
