Today we have not only one, but TWO different Lips of Faith Series beers coming from New Belgium. First up is Cascara Quad--ale brewed with date with coffee cherries added. Cascara Quad uses coffee from local roaster Novo Coffee who used Central American’s Cascara fruit that is dried and made into a cherry-like tea. This tea was then blended into a Quad fermented with “gorgeous malts” and date sugar (11% ABV).
Up next we have a co-brewed Lips of Faith beer with New Belgium and Canada’s Brasserie Dieu du Ciel. This beer will be called Heavenly Feijoa Tripel--ale brewed with Feijoa and hibiscus. Dieu du Ciel loosely translates to “Oh My God” which is what you’ll say when you sample this Tripel. Heavenly Feijoa Tripel uses Hibiscus and tart Feijoa Fruit so it should be interesting (9% ABV). Based on the “Best By” dates, Heavenly Feijoa Tripel will come out first followed a few months later by Cascara Quad…and both beers will be packaged in 22oz bottles.
As a bonus I’ve added a 2nd version of the Cascara Quad label. There appears to be a transparent coating strip…stay tuned for details on what that’s about.
