Three New Troegs Scratch Beers Pouring Today-66,67 & 68

imageNow that the scratch beer showdown is history and Philly Beer Week is in high gear, Troegs is releasing the three related Scratch beers at the brewery.  Details from Troegs:

SCRATCH #68-2012 – Zwickel Licker
RELEASE DATE: 6/4/12
A collaboration between beer writer Lew Bryson and brewer Jeff Musselman, Scratch
#68-2012 has been brewed specifically for Philly Beer Week. Lew chose to brew a Dortmunder Lager as he loves to drink session beers as much as he loves to write about them. Staying true to style, Zwickel Licker delivers a delicate barley field aroma with an earthy bitterness. At 5.4% ABV and 23 IBUs this beer deserves to be consumed outdoors while wearing lederhosen.

SCRATCH
#67-2012 – Brotherly Suds Vol. 3
RELEASE DATE: 6/4/12
This year’s Philly Beer Week Beer, Brotherly Suds Volume 3, was created collectively by brewers from Iron Hill Brewing, Sly Fox Brewing, Stoudt’s Brewing, Tröegs Brewing, Victory Brewing and Yards Brewing, and brewed at Tröegs Brewery in Hershey.
Via a flurry of emails, this collective cobbled together a Vienna Red Lager recipe that incorporates rye, American hops, and Kolsch yeast. By combining the spicy rye along with Centennial hops and subtle fruity flavors of the Kolsch yeast, hints of cream sickle shine through as this pungent American hop intertwines with a rich mix of barley.  At 5.2% ABV and 40 IBU, Scratch #67 is a testament to team work and impeccable taste! Enjoy!

SCRATCH
#66-2012 – Biere de Grouch
RELEASE DATE: 6/4/12
A collaboration between beer writer Jack Curtin and brewer Tim Mayhew, Scratch
#66-2012 has been brewed specifically for Philly Beer Week. Like his snark-filled rants, Jack’s beer tastes veer toward the peppery, yeasty flavor that dominates this French-style lager. The high-temperature fermentation and the addition of Tellicherry Black Pepper combine to create a deceptively, crisp, clean flavor for a 6.8% ABV beer.
