CHESTNUT HILL, PA – On Friday, April 27 beginning at 5 p.m., head brewer Paul Rutherford of Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant (8400 Germantown Avenue, 215-948-5600) will host a special Release Party for Kryptonite Double IPA, a comic-inspired “super beer” brewed with more than 60 pounds of American hops. Also on hand will be Iron Hill West Chester head brewer Mike Rutkowski, bringing his own hop-stravaganza, Hopkowski, an imperial red ale.
“We love creating festive and exciting new beers, and we love working alongside our other talented head brewers,” says Rutherford. “This release party is an opportunity for our guests to try two exceptional beers at one time, as well as a prelude to Kryptonite’s nemesis, Lex Luthor Triple IPA, which will be released at the end of May.”
Kryptonite Double IPA boasts powerful hop character. It was voted the 15th-best double IPA in America by beeradvocate.com. Hopkowski Imperial Red Ale is a potent alternative to Kryptonite, and together, the beers are a hop-head’s dream with loads of flavor. Each will be available on draught during the release party for $7 for 12 oz., and both Rutherford and Rutkowski will be on hand to talk about the beers and the brewing process.
Then, on Friday, May 31, Kryptonite’s nemesis, Lex Luthor Triple IPA, will be released. Guests can expect to see Rutherford dressed as Luthor and hop candies at the release event, which will showcase this exceptionally potent triple IPA, brewed with more than 100 pounds of American hops.
