Here’s the latest release from East End Brewing called Blabber & Smoke Rauchbier. This smoked lager will be packaged in big quart+ bottles and here are the full details from East End:
Blabber & Smoke is a little closer to release...
It's rare that we brew a Lager around here, mostly because they take more time to finish up in the tank, in spite of all the nagging and cajoling we direct toward the fermenter. So when we do one, we like to do something extra special that's worth the wait.
This one is Brendan's recipe from front to back, but the beer name comes from a song by a musical genius of sorts from the late sixties... Then as it turns out, we discover that Brendan bears an uncanny resemblance to this particular artist. See if you can pick out which one is the brewer in the photos above.
Putting all of this together in label form, our pal Wayno again comes through with this gem for us, with a nod toward one of The Captain's album covers...
The artwork was just approved by the Feds today (4/18/2012), so we're hoping to get labels from the printer and onto the bottles so we can release it during Pittsburgh Craft Beer Week at the brewery and at the Growler Shop in the Strip. But stay tuned for more on that as it takes shape.
Cheers - Scott
