Dogfish Head’s Sam Calagione & Brooklyn’s Garrett Oliver Named James Beard Award Finalists

imageThe James Bear Award is given out each year to a brewer, winemaker or distiller, who have had “significant impact” on the wine/distilled spirits/brewing industry nationwide.

imageGarret Oliver of Brooklyn Brewing was named a finalist and for the 2nd year in a row Sam Calagione from Dogfish Head has been named a finalist.  Other nominees for 2012 include:  Merry Edwards (Merry Edwards Winery in Sebastopol, CA).; Paul Grieco (Terroir in New York City);  and Neal Rosenthal (Mad Rose Group of Pine Plains, NY.)

Winners will be announced May 7th,
