Yuengling Now Largest US Owned Brewery Jumping Ahead of Sam Adams

Based on the numbers coming out of Beer Marketer’s Insight, DG Yuengling, boosted by it’s new Ohio facility, has now surpassed Samuel Adams /Boston Beer as far as barrels sold. Yuengling sold 2.5 million barrels in 2011 followed closely by Boston Beer at 2.4 million barrels sold. These are of course estimated numbers but basically Yuengling & Boston Beer have traded this honor back and forth several times over the last few years. As Yuengling expands beyond it’s limited distribution (13 states) it may push further. Samuel Adams has a much wider distribution area currently.

How would I see a distribution limit? I understand there are territories, and I am looking to go outside the
Luzerne County/Shangy's territory.

If you're talking about Yuengling...you'd have to look up the Class A distributor maps and see who owns what territories. I'm pretty sure some of that is available on-line, I've just never tried to find it. Much of that info is simply just known by the distriutors themselves. I suppose you could ask Yuengling as well.
