Today we have two new and interesting brews from Samuel Adams / Boston Beer Co….Black & Brew Coffee Stout (12oz 5.8% ABV)…”O

ur Coffee Stout is a full-bodied, rich stout that supports the espresso character of the coffee. We use 1.5 pounds of Sumatran coffee per barrel. Rich and toasty, the flavor leads with coffee & follows with underlying notes of chocolate, caramel &dark fruit.  Cheers!””  I initially thought this may be the 2008 Beer Lovers Choice lower Coffee Stout, but the ABV doesn’t seem to match up so who knows.

Also today we have an interesting keg label for the winning Patriot Homebrew Baltic Porter (Jim Prucha).  The contest concluded in March & the beer will be served at Gillette Stadium for the entire 2011-2012 New England Patriot season…presumably only on draft.
