Drakes Brewing Aroma Coma: This is the double version of Drakes GABF award winning IPA….and at appears as though it may have been an “accidental” brew with an oops-2nd-dry-hopping. In any case it will be a 9.25% ABV 22oz bottle and this from the label: “You are holding a Drake’s Aroma Coma Double IPA. People are often willing to journey long and far for this beer! Aroma Coma has hearty and unique malt characteristics it is loaded with two types of Crystal malts, plus Rolled Oats and Black Malt creating flavors reminiscent of toffee with a light caramel toastiness. We balanced the malty goodness with an onslaught of Cascade and Chinook hops. Behold Aroma Coma’s mahogany color as you savor the wonderful aroma, complex taste, and mildly bitter finish.”
Coronado Brewing Saison by the Sea: Here’s the new monochromatic packaging for Saison by the Sea. It will remain 7% ABV and 22oz bottle packaging…”Saison by the Sea is exceptionally spiced with fragrant hints of ginger, chamomile and spearmint. The subtle use of Tettnanger hops is enhanced by a malty backbone of barley, wheat and toasted oats.” and yes even I was surprised to read spearmint!
Evolution Craft Brewing The Syndicate Saison Ale brewed with Peppercorns: This is the 3 Stars Brewing (Dave Coleman, Mike McGarvey) co-brew for SAVOR and for 3 Stars first publicly-released brew. From the Evolution Brewing Blog: “Its a Saison spiced with peppercorns and aged on oak, and should be perfect for the increasingly oppressive weather of our nation's capital in June. Dry, refreshing, spicy and heavily hopped with Saaz hops.”
