A big thank you to Master brewer Jeff Edgerton from Bridgeport Brewing for the great Bridgeport Summer Squeeze samples that arrived today. Summer Squeeze is a really sessionable 4.5% ABV extra Pale Ale brewed with Austrian Aurora hops in the boil, Sterling whole cone hops and lemongrass in the hopjack, and a cold infusion of Yuzu Citrus Juice in the cellar for a “tangy lemon mandarin hybrid flavor.” ABV 4.5%, 19 IBU and 5.5 SRM. We brought you news of Summer Squeeze in April and I’m really excited to try this one for myself….so stay tuned for the tasting update this weekend! Update: We had a chance to enjoy the Summer Squeeze on a warm evening on the deck, and it was just the right beer at the right time. Light bodied, crisp, clean and refreshing with just a hint of lemon & citrus….a very easy-drinking beer and a great summer seasonal brew. I can see this one being perfect for he beach, and an ideal beer for someone just starting to like craft beers. Nice job Jeff…a very unique summer brew.
