We’re all familiar with Troegs Mad Elf holiday brew. Recently Troegs released the Naked version (aka Naked Elf) (This from Troegs:
While everyone at Tröegs knows the holiday season kicks off with the emergence of the Mad Elf, we like to prepare for his visit with this “undressed” version to mark the halfway point to December. Naked Elf gets right to the crux of Mad Elf’s flavor by highlighting its distinctive yeast strain. Gone are the cherries, honey and chocolate malt that dress up the Mad Elf, leaving him stark-raving nude to reveal the yeast in all its birthday-suited glory. Displaying notes of cinnamon, allspice and clove amid tangy fruity esters, this naughty little elf definitely spices things up a bit around here. 7.5% ABV and 17 IBU. Availability: cases, six-packs, single bottles, draft & growler fills.
And now Wild Elf….Over the last month, Troegs has been teasing a new Wild Elf to be fermented in their new oak foeders with local sour cherries and released this fall:
