Crazy Mountain - Neomexicanus Native Pale Ale - New Hop Variety

image Here’s an interesting new 22oz bottle coming from Crazy Mountain

Brewing Co called Neomexicanus Native Pale Ale.  Crazy Mountain has partnered with a hop farmer *(CLS Farms in Monee, WA) to explore a largely undocumented hop variety native to the South Western U.S.  The variety is called Humulus Lupulus Neomexicanus and the beer will come in at 6% ABV and no word on IBU so stay tuned.

UPDATE from Crazy Mtn:  This beer will be available on draft and in 22oz bottles later this fall using a rather unused hop native to the American Southwest.

  1. I stumbled upon this variety along a creek in Arizona last year. I harvested about a pound of them and created a five gallon batch of Pale Ale. It was nice and crisp, low in bitterness, and out of the four taps on my beer fridge it was the first to go. My friends kept coming back for more! I will be brewing with these again this fall at harvest time.
