Here’s an interesting new series of beers beer coming from New Belgium called Hop Kitchen and the first release is Hoppy Bock Lager (an amped up maibock). This beer is 6.9% ABV and it appears as though we will see more of “Hop Kitchen” (4 beers in 2013) since New Belgium took the time to trademark it on Nov 5th. Hoppy Bock Lager will be packaged in 22oz bottles (and kegs) and YES it is a NEW series of beers from New Belgium. Hoppy Bock lager is a “German-style springtime lager brewed with rye then loaded with Hallertauer, Perle & Fuggle hops.” Based on this first release I’m sure I’m going to love this new series of hoppy beers. Up next is likely an IPA using specialty Aramis hops followed by a fresh-hop IPA (stay tuned).
