Today we have the second Flying Dog Brewhouse Rarities beer to make the transition from Draft-only to bottles (following Disobedience Dubbel)….and it is fitting that this beer is named for long-time label artist Ralph Steadman. This new brew is called St. Eadman Belgian-Style Dark Ale, it comes in at 10% ABV and it will be packaged in 750ml bottles (bottle conditioned). it should also be noted that the label features a Ralph Steadman self-portrait.
From Flying Dog: It’s a filthy habit indeed, our dear Ralph, filled with scamps, tramps, and sick and twisted souls. But we love you for it.
Our Dark Belgian Strong has bright fruity esters of pears and strawberries blending with caramel malt character and brown fruit notes of dried tart cherries and plums. ST. EADman is complex and sweet with a dry finish, just like the man it honors.
Flying Dog ST. EADman will be hand-packaged in bottle-conditioned 750ml bottles and available on draft for a limited time only. The brewery has not yet released availability information.
Beer stats:
ABV: 10% ABV, 35 IBUs
Hops: Northern Brewer, Hallertau Mittelfruh
Specialty malts: Malteries Franco-Belges Pale Ale, Malteries Franco-Belgo Cara-Vienna and Castle Special B.
