Stone Brewing Vertical Epic series of beers have taken us on a tour of flavors, and not just fresh flavors, but flavors and characteristics that are meant to be aged. The beers are released each year on the day and month that correspond to the year culminating in a beer to be released this year on Dec 12th 2012. Each beer is meant to be aged and consumed in a vertical tasting in Dec 2012, the end of the series.
There has been a lot of conjecture at what the final beer would be, and while we don’t have the full details yet, we did interview our pal Mitch Steele this morning and he did give us a clue. When asked about 12-12-12, Mitch Steele said “Think Belgian Christmas.” Take it for what it’s worth, but I think we have a pretty good idea not only what Stone 12-12-12 will be, but also how good it will be. I can’t wait to taste Stone’s interpretation of a Belgian-style holiday ale and I’m really looking forward to this release.
