Prairie Artisan Ales Custom Barrel Program Returns

Let’s get right to it: THE CUSTOM BARREL PROGRAM IS BACK.

We’re excited to offer a custom barrel package to a (very) limited number of customers, and we’re making it available on a first come, first served basis starting THIS FRIDAY (Black Friday) at NOON CST.

WHAT IS INCLUDED:

  • CHOOSE WHAT THE BEER SHALL BE

    • You pick the adjuncts! Choose from a list of stuff we’ve worked with in the past, or we’ll source specialty items, or use coffee beans from your favorite coffee shop, or… whatever you want!

    • We’ll also be consultants for you to help guide these decisions. We’re good at this, and will work with you to make sure you get a beer you love.

    • THERE WILL BE TWO OPTIONS at checkout — you can choose a Heaven Hill Whiskey Barrel (this is what we use for 80-90% of our Barrel Aged stouts)! There are also a couple of BLiS Maple Bourbon Barrels available (these barrels first held Bourbon, then held Maple Syrup, now they’re holding Imperial Stout).

  • NAME THE BEER (almost) ANYTHING YOU WANT

    • This, like all your decisions, will be subject to a veto by us — if you choose something… like racist, or otherwise horrible… no.

    • I know that doesn’t need to be said, but we’re gonna say it anyway!

  • GUIDE THE DESIGN OF THE LABEL

    • We’ve got an artist to design your label, but they’ll work from your suggestions & ideas, if you have something in mind!

    • Optional Add-On: We can discuss later in the process, but we’ll be happy to make some custom merchandise featuring the artwork from your label.

  • PICK-UP CELEBRATION AT PRAIRIE OKC

    • The beers MUST be picked up in Oklahoma City at the Prairie OKC taproom.

    • We’ll coordinate a time/date to pick-up your beers. At which time, we’ll host you (at no additional charge) for a 2-hour reception/party in our Pickleball space, complete with hors d'oeuvres for 10-12 people (you can bring as many people as you want, and you can bring in extra food).

  • ALL THE BEER. ALL OF IT.

HOW MUCH BEER IS THAT?

Impossible to say for sure! It depends on what you add to the barrel. If you add a bunch of muffins or something — they’ll likely soak up more of the beer than if you added… vanilla. So we can’t commit to a specific number, but we anticipate your yield will be between 30-40 cases.

So on the low end, that’s 360 bottles of your very own custom Barrel Aged Imperial Stout from Prairie Artisan Ales.

The price is $6,000 per barrel.

WHEN YOU MAKE YOUR PURCHASE IN THE ONLINE SHOP, the price will be listed as $500. This will serve as your deposit. Two reasons for that:

  1. In the unlikely event that several people hit “BUY” at the same moment and we accidentally oversell these barrels, we’ll be able to refund the unlucky customers their $500 quickly.

  2. We are worried that a $6,000 payment to our website (which mostly sells $30 t-shirts) might raise a red flag with your bank, which could delay payment, and could unintentionally mean you miss out on a barrel. We didn’t want that to happen.

Assuming everything goes smoothly, we’ll contact you via phone or e-mail after you’ve made your deposit, at which point you’ll be responsible to pay the $5,500 balance.

Any additional questions? Just reply to this e-mail and we’ll get back to you ASAP!

(BUT please be patient — for it is Thanksgiving week and we are preparing casseroles).

BLACK FRIDAY, 12PM CST

Purchase through the online shop.

First come, first served.

Good luck!
