From Mikkeller:
WELCOME TO #YEAROFTHELAGER
We got some fantastic news for all you Lager Lovers out there! We at Mikkeller are teaming up with the legendary Czech brewery, Budvar, to bring you a collaboration beer like no other - #YearoftheLager!
For a while now, the craft beer scene has been all about pushing the extreme - whether that'll be stouts with added coffee from the foggy Peruvian highlands or fruited smoothie-style sours mixed with volcanic salt and dried fish from Iceland. But hold onto your beer mugs, folks, because the classic Czech lager is back in the spotlight, and craftsmanship is stealing the show!
So, what's the deal?
Mikkeller and Budvar have joined forces to create the ultimate Czech lager, #YearoftheLager. This beer isn't just a beverage; it's a work of art. Crafted with love, it packs a 4.6% punch of that crisp, balanced, and aromatic goodness you expect from a classic Czech lager.
But wait, there's more! The name #YearoftheLager isn't just catchy; it's a nod to a New Year's Eve joke from 2018 by Mikkeller's very own Mikkel Bjergsø. The joke was that each new year would bring a newfound appreciation for well-brewed lager beer. Well, folks, that appreciation is here, and it's taking the craft beer world by storm!
Mikkel says it best: "Today, we return to the essence of beer brewery, where the love for the craftsmanship and the pure lager beer is paramount."
In a craft beer world filled with bold experiments, with this project Mikkeller and Budvar are taking beer back to its roots with the shared love for traditionally brewed lager beers.
So, grab your friends and families, raise your glasses, and join us, because as Mikkel rightly declares, "This collaboration with Budvar means that it is now officially the Year of the Lager! "
Cheers to that!
#Yearofthelager will release on September 27th at WarPigs in Copenhagen followed by several of our other locations globally through October and November. Keep an eye out for announcements of all release dates on our social media platforms.
