To inspire fans to Claw Back their time off this summer, White Claw surveyed employed Americans about their vacation habits and uncovered the surprising benefits of taking time off, ranging from spicier relationships to increasing likeability at work. Key research findings include:
- Americans Aren't Taking Summer Vacations
- The majority (54%) of employed Americans have not planned their summer vacation.
- 1 in 4 (24%) employed Americans won't take all their vacation time this year.

- The More Time Off You Take, the More You Love Your Life
- The majority (82%) of employed Americans say taking vacation gives them more time to do the things they love, leading to a more fulfilling life (41%).
- More Vacation = Spicier and More Exciting Relationships
- A third (36%) of employed Americans in relationships, say vacationing has made their relationship more spicy, fun, and exciting. Almost half (45%) of Gen Z'ers report having spicier relationships as a result of taking vacations.
- Vacations are Key to Career Success – Increasing Likability and Raises
- Despite the fear of burdening your coworkers, nearly half (41%) of employed Americans agree they like their coworkers more when they return from their vacation, finding them to be better team members and contributors (55%) and feeling greater appreciation and value for their work (50%).
- Employed Americans who take vacations are almost twice as likely to have received a raise in the past 12 months. Nearly half (47%) of employed Americans who have taken a vacation received a raise in the past 12 months, compared to only 29% of those who haven't taken one.

Claw™ Back Your Summer Survey Methodology
The survey was conducted online within the United States by Edelman Data and Intelligence on behalf of White Claw from May 25 – June 5, 2023 among 1,000 Americans employed full-time ages 21-65, with an additional oversample to total 502 Gen Z'ers employed full-time ages 21-26. The sample is a representative recruit of the U.S. with a ± 3.1% margin of error at the 95% confidence level.
